The Discomfort of My Dad
"The greatest political storm flutters only a fringe of humanity, but an ordinary man and an ordinary woman and their ordinary children will literally alter the destiny of nations." –GK Chesterton
So I’ve shared part of my world today – My Papa Randolph.
My sisters and dad back in the day...way back
Fathers are an equally essential role in our families, communities and business too.
My Dad ,a blue collar man with mogul mindset – he didn’t want his history to define our future. He developed a blueprint for my sisters and I to change the course of being a statistic.
The Blueprint was Education
My proud parents at my college ceremony -way..way back .
The blueprint being focused on education – school was the only option. My sisters participated in all the opportunities presented – afterschool programs, debate team ,etc. All of the experiences aided in our development as future leaders.
Yup my Dad claimed it and we adsorbed it- We are leaders in the making (not bossy!).
In developing a leader – we had to have an open mind and what better place to have an open mind than NYC- the concrete jungle. We have think and move differently.
I had to accept that success and comfort are not synonymous. In life and business, we have to do things differently to grow. Just think about it – the definition of insanity is to do the same thing and expect different results.
The Discomfort of My Dad showed me I had to do things differently to move forward.
Let me ask you:
